Introduction

Our world, fragile kaleidoscope of unique cultures, original traditions or contrasted landscapes, never seemed so familiar, though so complex, so hard to comprehend. It is essential, for those who share the human values of development and mutual respect, to accept the differences and to preserve this richess, nowadays threatened by private interests.

Photographing the world as it is, from Asia to Europe, from America to the MIddle East, is my way to bear witness to what brings us together (rassembles) and separates us, to show its beauty, often, its ugliness, sometimes, and how precious its variety is, always.

The journeys I have been undertaking for years, across dead ends, markets, remote suburbs or majestic areas, catching looks and smiles, constantly worked towards that end. My forthcoming journeys will go one step further, by showing the beauty of our planet and the diversity of its inhabitants, by trying to understand traditions different from ours, by taking care to respect, as much as possible, the authenticity of the cultures and places I will come across.

I hope that my look upon the world will bring the viewers to open themselves to the others and that it will contribute to bringing the barriers down.
