With the Mekong's current
In sharp contrast with the populated and bustling neighbouring Thailand and Vietnam, rural and quiet Laos seems to live in tune with the Mekong. Lazy and majestic, the mythical river is the country’s spine. Because of an underdeveloped transport infrastructure it stayed for a long time the only communication route.
